M. Chapoutier

The Maison Chapoutier is a pillar of viticulture in the Rhône Valley, renowned for its exceptional wines and commitment to quality and terroir. Since its founding in 1808, Maison Chapoutier has remained true to its vision of producing wines that reflect the soul of the region and express the unique character of each vineyard parcel.

Mr. Chapoutier's iconic wines include those of the Hermitage appellation, which represents the quintessential terroir of the northern Rhône Valley. Chapoutier's Hermitage wines come from steep, south-facing terraced vineyards planted mainly with Syrah for the reds, and Marsanne and Roussanne for the whites. These Hermitage red wines are powerful, complex and elegant, with aromas of black fruits, spices, violets and an impressive tannic structure. The Hermitage white wines are distinguished by their finesse, citrus, white-fleshed fruit and almond aromas, as well as a lovely refreshing acidity.

Another iconic wine from Mr. Chapoutier is the cuvée "Le Pavillon" from the Ermitage appellation. This is an exceptional wine, produced from the best parcels of vines and rigorously selected. Le Pavillon is a tribute to the passion and expertise of the Chapoutier family, offering exceptional concentration, intense aromatic depth and beautifully integrated tannic structure. This wine is destined to age for many years, allowing its complex flavors to develop and flourish over time.

Wines from the Côte-Rôtie appellation are also flagships of the Chapoutier company. Situated on steep slopes, this appellation is known for its schist soils and terraced vineyards. Chapoutier's Côte-Rôtie wines are elegant, expressive and refined. They feature aromas of red and black fruits, spices, pepper and a silky tannic structure. These wines are a true expression of the unique character of the region's terroir.

In addition to prestigious appellations, M. Chapoutier also offers iconic wines in other Rhône Valley appellations. For example, wines from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation are rich, concentrated and generous, with remarkable aromatic complexity. Wines from the Saint-Joseph appellation offer a beautiful expression of Syrah, with aromas of black fruits, spices and violets, combined with a velvety texture.

Mr. Chapoutier's approach to viticulture is guided by respect for nature and the search for the most authentic expression of terroir. The company is committed to biodynamic viticulture, in harmony with natural cycles and using methods that respect the environment. This is reflected in the purity and precision of Chapoutier's wines.

Mr. Chapoutier's iconic wines are treasures of the Rhône Valley, reflecting the passion, commitment and expertise of a family business that has pRéserver and promoted the region's winemaking heritage. Whether it's wines from Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, Châteauneuf-du-Pape or other appellations, every bottle of Chapoutier offers an exceptional taste experience, combining complexity, elegance and respect for terroir.

Description M. Chapoutier Neve 2016.

With a very dark, deep color with satin highlights, the wine offers us an elegant, fine nose.

It reveals a nose dominated by notes of graphite and cold smoke.

After aeration appear fruits of the forest but also herbaceous scents.

On the palate, it possesses great verticality.

The power of the attack is balanced by persistent tension.

Black pepper and roasting dominate the aromatic palette.

The tasting ends with a saline, highly expressive finish.

It's a great wine to drink
