1930 – The creation of Château Minuty
It was Gabriel Farnet who entirely replanted the vineyard and gave back to Château Minuty all its splendour, built under Napoleon III, just like the small chapel which gave its name to the Cuvée de l’Oratoire, flagship of the House for a long time. In 1955, Château Minuty was one of the 23 properties to be distinguished as Cru Classé des Côtes de Provence.
1960 – Replanting the Château Minuty :
Monique Farnet, daughter of Gabriel, and her husband Etienne Matton replanted traditional Provencal grape varieties (tibouren, rolle, Grenache), and initiated the limited and low yields for a great vinification quality.
1990 – Minuty’s expanding reputation :
Today Jean-Etienne and François Matton have taken over and continue to improve Minuty. They have put their stamp on it by restructuring the vineyards and replacing the Carignan and Ugni Blanc with Grenache and Rolle.
A wine estate of 70 hectares in reasoned farming, with an annual production that amounts to 500.000 bottles depending on the year. Vines are on average 25 years old on schist soils.
