The Papin family has been taking care of Chateau Pierre Bise, located in Beaulieu sur Layon, in the heart of Layon, for several generations, a 55 hectare estate managed by Claude and Joêlle Papin with the help of their two sons René and Christophe
The vineyard is planted on a soil of schists, spilites and carboniferous sandstone.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin blanc
Color: intense golden yellow with orange highlights.
Tasting: very good balance with an intense minerality. Rich accents of yellow fruits and smoke with hints of pollen.
Food and wine pairing: ask to be served between 10 and 12 ° C on a escalope of foie gras with apples or on blue-veined cheeses such as Fourme d'Ambert or Bleu d'Auvergne.
Aging potential: several decades during which the wine will acquire great qualities.
