Vallein Tercinier

A House of Cognac, located in Chermignac in the heart of this deep Saintonge, not far from Saintes, a Roman city with limestone soils where the Romans planted their first vines in Gaul at the very beginning of our era. Saintes could have become the capital of Cognac, but it had to give way to its rival Cognac, which later, at the end of the 19th century, gave its name to France's most famous brandy.

The house Vallein-Tercinier was founded in 1850, and is still run today by a 5th generation bearing the same name.

Description Vallein Tercinier Vieux Pineau Blanc.

It's a blend of grape juice, grape variety CoLombard white,  harvested at the time of harvest exclusively, and Cognac.

The Pineau des Charentes is then put into French oak barrels and aged a minimum of 10 years before being bottled as and when required.

La robe is bright old gold with some bronze highlights.

Mouth and nose reveal herbal and menthol notes with a hint of walnut and almond and undergrowth. The finish is very velvety, with hints of apricot, fig and Corsican mandarin.

Serve around 12 to 14°C as an aperitif with thin slices of Bayonne ham, charcuterie such as andouillette de Vire,  white pudding flavored with black Quercy truffle., or blue-veined cheeses such as Fourme d'Ambert or English Steelton.
