Normandin-Mercier

Normandin-Mercier

Cognac Normandin-Mercier, is an old eighteenth century dwelling nestled in the Saintonge countryside surrounded by cellars where the treasures of this House dating from the Second French Empire under Napoléon III sleep.

Created in 1872, today it is a fifth generation that watches over this long-standing heritage, hidden not far from La Rochelle, "the rebel city" with its headquarters by Louis XIII and Richelieu, a port at the origin of the first shipments of wines and then later in the seventeenth of brandies distilled in its hinterland named Cognac from the middle of the nineteenth century.

This is where Premiers Grands Crus, true to its Quality Charter, has unearthed this gem of Cognac.

Description Normandin Mercier Très Vieux Pineau Blanc.

A blend of two-thirds fresh, ripe white grape must with one-third young Cognac brandy, all aged in oak barrels. The rancio expresses itself with intensity and length.

More concentrated and full-bodied than its predecessors, it will go wonderfully well with foie gras mi-cuit or roast duck breast stuffed.
