Beaulon is a benchmark in the world of Cognac eau-de-vie and pineau des Charentes production.
This renowned house, located in the small Charente-Maritime commune of Saint-Dizant-du-Gua, boasts a rich history and family tradition dating back centuries.
The history of the Beaulon family is closely linked to that of their Domaine. The distillery was founded in the early 18th century by Jacques Beaulon, a man with a passion for vines and distillation. Since then, the Beaulon family has continued to run the distillery from generation to generation, preserving the heritage and tradition for which the house is renowned.
The Domaine extends over almost 90 hectares of well-kept vineyards, located in the Petite Champagne region, one of the most prized crus of Cognac. These vineyards benefit from an exceptional terroir of limestone and clay-limestone soils, which give the grapes a unique aromatic richness and complexity. This richness translates into high-quality Cognacs and pineaux des Charentes, which are one of the specialties of the Beaulon distillery.
In addition to the traditional production of Cognac, Beaulon is also renowned for its production of pineau des Charentes, a deliciously sweet and aromatic liqueur wine. The house offers a variety of pineaux des Charentes, from the youngest and freshest to the oldest and most complex, each with its own flavors and characteristics.
The Beaulon distillery is also committed to sustainability and environmental preservation. It adopts nature-friendly farming practices in its vineyards, promoting biodiversity and soil health.
This is a mono-millilage blend of grape juice from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc varieties, at the time of harvest, intimately linked to Cognac, all made exclusively at Beaulon's Château in autumn 1985.
This blend was then aged in French oak barrels for over 30 years, and is bottled as and when required.
