The source of the water flowing through the distillery comes from an underground spring called "The Macallan River".
The manufacturing methods are steeped in tradition and meticulousness. The malting, brewing, fermentation and distillation processes are carried out with care to Extraextract the very essence of the barley and the flavors of the terroir. Distillation takes place in traditional copper stills, contributing to the whisky's finesse and complexity.

The Double Cask 12 Years Old marries classic The Macallan style with the characteristic smoothness of American oak. This is a perfectly balanced, full-bodied single malt with flavors of honey, citrus and ginger.
This whisky matured for 12 years in American and Spanish oak casks, both of which contained sherry.

On the nose, caramelized notes are combined with candied notes of lemon and orange. The vanilla provided by the oak cask completes the olfactory experience.
