It is at Cognac that the Cognacs A de Fussigny are made. It is in fact on the banks of the Charente River that the cellars and a distillery dating from 1814 are located, precisely where the barges transporting the wines and the precious brandies from upstream were loaded along the banks of the Charente River. These "gabarres", flat-bottomed boats given the shallow draft of the river, were pulled by horses along the river on these banks which were called "Chemin des gabarriers".
The Cognacs are aged in these cellars in a humid environment favoring a quality aging.
This cognac is a Grand Champagne cognac, classified as Premier Cru in the Cognac region, made from very old eaux-de-vie.
The robe is coppery amber with mahogany highlights.
The nose is elegant with complexity ranging from white flowers to a hint of violet so characteristic of this Premier Cru followed by hints of stewed fruits such as plum, pear and bitter orange with a finish of woody and spicy notes.
In the mouth: same perceptions as in the nose with a final touch of vanilla, cocoa and fine chocolate.
