It is at Cognac that the Cognacs A de Fussigny are made. It is in fact on the banks of the Charente River that the cellars and a distillery dating from 1814 are located, precisely where the barges transporting the wines and the precious brandies from upstream were loaded along the banks of the Charente River. These "gabarres", flat-bottomed boats given the shallow draft of the river, were pulled by horses along the river on these banks which were called "Chemin des gabarriers".
The Cognacs are aged in these cellars in a humid environment favoring a quality aging.
This is a Cognac made from grapes and wines harvested in the fourth cru of the Cognac delimited region (Laws of 1936 onwards) namely: les Fins Bois. This is a Cognac mono-Millésimé: 1988.
This splendid cru, all on small hillsides, is composed mainly of clay-limestone, a guarantee of qualities to achieve these great Cognacs from Fins Bois.
La robe is golden with copper-red reflections with hints of Cuban mahogany.
On the palate and nose: eXOtic fruits with hints of fine citrus fruits such as lychee or pineapple mixed with fine hints of cherry.
The finish is long and round on a discreet but elegant reminder of woody vanilla.
To be drunk at room temperature after a lunch or as a long drink with a Schweppes for example with citrus fruits in order to exult the first perfumes and flavors or neat on the rocks.
