La Maison Camus, one of the oldest independent Cognac houses, embodies a family tradition that has endured for five generations.
Founded in 1863 by Jean-Baptiste Camus in Cognac, France, this house of Cognac has combined craftsmanship and innovation to create exceptional spirits.
The Camus family history is one of dedication and commitment to the production of high-quality Cognac. Since its inception, Maison Camus has remained a family business, and each generation of the family has made its own contribution to the house's renown. Today, Cyril Camus, a member of the fifth generation, presides over the company's destiny, carrying on the family tradition and heritage.
Covering around 280 hectares of vines in the Borderies region, one of Cognac's most prized crus, the property is a treasure trove, housing decades-old vines, and is essential to ensuring the consistent quality of Camus eaux-de-vie. Direct control over vine cultivation allows Maison Camus to guarantee the quality of its grapes, an essential element in the production of exceptional Cognac.
La Maison Camus is distinguished by its commitment to the tradition and craftsmanship of Cognac. It uses proven production methods that have been perfected over generations. Distillation takes place in traditional copper stills, allowing the unique aromas and characteristics of the Borderies terroir to be pRéserver captured. The eaux-de-vie are then aged in French oak barrels, where they acquire their complexity and refinement.
Innovation is also an important characteristic of Maison Camus. The range of Cognacs Camus includes a variety of styles, from traditional Cognacs to more contemporary expressions, demonstrating the house's ability to adapt to changing consumer tastes while preserving quality and tradition.
