Grosperrin

The Cognac Grosperrin is a name that resonates with excellence and tradition in the world of Cognac. This family-owned company, founded by Jean Grosperrin, is renowned for its commitment to craftsmanship and the exceptional quality of its Cognacs. With a history that dates back over two centuries, Cognac Grosperrin is the fruit of a passion passed down from generation to generation.

The story of the Grosperrin family begins in the early 19th century, when Jean Grosperrin, a wine merchant, began producing and trading Cognac. Since then, the family has developed a unique expertise in selecting exceptional Cognacs from the region's finest Domaines.

What sets Cognac Grosperrin apart is its resolute focus on quality and authenticity. Unlike the big Cognac houses that produce blends, Grosperrin focuses on buying and maturing Cognacs from small, artisanal distilleries. These Cognacs are aged in oak casks in the traditional cellars of the Cognac region, where the mild, oceanic climate plays an essential role in the maturation process.

The terroir of the Cognac region is a key element in the quality of Cognacs Grosperrin. The vineyards lie on limestone soils, which give the grapes a unique mineral richness. What's more, the mild climate, tempered by the influence of the Atlantic Ocean, favors slow, steady ripening of the grapes, enabling the development of complex aromas of great finesse.

What makes Cognacs Grosperrin even more special is their age. The house focuses on acquiring mature Cognacs, some of which are over 50 years old. These Cognacs are carefully selected for their exceptional quality and their ability to reveal the full richness and complexity of the Cognac terroir. Each bottle is a living testimony to the region's ancestral know-how and heritage.

The Grosperrin approach to Cognac production is also marked by its respect for traditional methods. Cognacs are distilled by hand in copper stills, using techniques handed down from generation to generation. This attention to detail and tradition ensures pRéserver authenticity and the very essence of Cognac.

The Cognacs Grosperrin are distinguished by their aromatic complexity, finesse and balance. Each bottle tells a unique story, with subtle aromas of fruit, flowers, spices and woody notes. Tasting a Cognac Grosperrin is an unforgettable sensory experience, offering depth and elegance that will delight the most demanding connoisseurs.

Description Grosperrin N°58 Brut de Fût.

This very Rare Cognac comes from an indivision that was established on the death of the winegrower many years ago.

This man, also a country broker, used to keep track of the oldest Cognacs he resold.

It was from his son that Jean bought back this Cognac, in 1999.

Since then, this unique cask has remained stored in our cellars. Because of its high quality, it had been isolated without any particular purpose being defined.

It was only in 2017 that a bottling was carried out for collection Grosperrin.

Very amber in color.

On the nose, this Cognac asserts its great age with tertiary notes, spices, white pepper, autumn undergrowth, humus, and a pronounced rancio.

Portant, there's also a certain lightness to these aromas, thanks to notes of jasmine, tubers, candied fruit.

On the palate, the attack is soft, greedy, not very tannic, with an elegant rancidness.

The vintage, Les Fins Bois, makes this Cognac fine, not very powerful on the upswing, certainly, but very balanced, and approachable on the palate.
