Frapin

Installed in southwest France since 1270, the Frapin family has been winemakers, then distillers for over twenty generations, owning a 240-hectare Vineyard in Grande Champagne.

It's Grande Champagne, classified as Premier Cru in the Cognac Region, that will become the chosen land of this family settled at Château de Fontpinot.

In its family tree, the Frapin family includes the famous 16th-century writer Antoine Rabelais. In a nod to history, Maison Frapin's logo features the writer's golden feather.

The wines are distilled with the lees at Frapin. After the traditional double distillation known as "Charentaise", the newly distilled eaux de vie are housed for a quarter in new barrels and for the rest in red or older barrels.

The Frapin house produces a wide range of Cognacs, the oldest of which date back to 1888.

Description Frapin Millésime 1990 30 ans d'âge.

Elegant, supple and brilliant, greedy, the 1990 vintage is the fruit of the alliance of a unique terroir, an ancestral know-how and a passion for excellence. Its voluptuous aromatic richness and its infinite length in the mouth give it its own personality inherited from the climatic hazards of that year.

Harvested, distilled on the lees and aged at the Domaine, the 1990 Vintage - 30 Years Old contains the sublime expression of the Grande Champagne terroir.

The robe is brilliant, orange yellow, flattering the eyes with a joyful brightness.

On the nose: is carried away by delicate and refined notes of candied orange and dried fig before being conquered by aromas of dried fruit.

On the palate: It deploys an elegance and a greediness all in balance. Notes of candied fruit such as orange flatter the palate, followed by a touch of licorice and cinnamon. The journey continues slowly, generously, on fine notes of rancio.
