Dubosquet

House Dubosquet, located not far from Saintes in the heart of this deep Saintonge, a Roman city with limestone soils where the Romans planted their first vines in Gaul at the very beginning of our era.

It could have become the capital of Cognac, but Saintes, with its Roman-era arena and Arc de Triomphe, had to take a back seat to its rival Cognac, which later gave its name to France's most famous brandy at the end of the 19th century.

This is a very old family from the Cognac region, whose roots go back as far as 1640, according to French national archives.

This house produces Cognacs Grande Champagne, classified Premier Cru de Cognac.

Description Dubosquet Cigar Blend.

It is a Club Cigar cognac whose distilled wines come exclusively from the vineyards of the chalky slopes of Grande Champagne de Cognac, and classified Premier Cru at the very top of the qualitative hierarchy of cognacs. The oldest Eaux-de-Vie that make up this exceptional Cognac date from 1973.

The color is dark amber with slight golden bronze reflections in a bottle whose shape dates back to the end of the 19th century, a nod to one of the first so-called "Cognacaise" bottles produced mechanically.

In the first attack, the nose reveals a wide aromatic palette exalting fragrances of white flowers such as those of peach, pigeon heart cherry or burlat, ending on a note of violet, a major clue to the origin of this remarkable eau-de -life in more ways than one, from Grande Champagne, classified by its intrinsic Premier Cru qualities.

In the second attack, then come subtle very structured flavors such as Sichuan peppers, black peppers, ginger, leather and musk with nice hints of woody vanilla to finish on fine nuances of chocolate and mocha.

On the palate, a wide range of taste sensations from white or black pepper, or candied ginger, plum and apricot, woody vanilla which has matured over time in French oak barrels, or mocha and of chocolate to finish on a fine coppery touch, a delicate taste reminder of the exceptional softness and roundness of the distillation in the second heating over an open fire in a red copper still.

Tasting recommended in tulip glass, an appropriate shape for a connoisseur's tasting. An exquisite moment of sharing with friends almost at any time of the day "to then talk about it" according to Talleyrand Minister of Napoleon I. Will also go very well in a long drink with citrus schweppes, an extreme happiness in any season before a meal.
