A Grande Champagne Premier Cru Cognac for Cigar lovers.

- +

It is a Club Cigare cognac whose distilled wines come exclusively from the chalky hillside vineyards of Grande Champagne de Cognac, and classified Premier Cru at the top of the qualitative hierarchy of cognacs. The oldest Eaux-de-Vie that make up this exceptional Cognac date from 1989 and 1973.

The color is dark amber with slight golden golden reflections in a bottle whose shape is at the end of the 19th century, a nod to one of the first so-called "Cognacaise" bottles produced mechanically.

During a prolonged tasting, the nose will reveal a wide aromatic palette exalting fragrances of white flowers such as those of peach, cherry, heart of pigeon or burlat, ending on a note of violet, a major clue to the origin of this remarkable eau-de-vie in more than one way, from Grande Champagne, classified by its intrinsic qualities Premier Cru. Then come subtle more structured flavors such as sichuan peppers, ginger, leather or musk, ending with fine nuances of chocolate and coffee.

On the palate, a wide range of taste sensations from white or black peppers, or ginger, candied plum and apricot, woody vanilla which has matured over time in French oak barrels, or mocha and of chocolate to finish on a very fine copper tip, a delicate taste reminder of the exceptional sweetness and roundness of the distillation in second heating over open heat in a red copper still.

Recommended tasting in tulip glass, a suitable shape for connoisseur tasting. An exquisite moment of sharing with friends almost at any time of the day "to then talk about it" according to Talleyrand Minister of Napoleon I. Will also go very well in long drink with citrus schweppes, an extreme happiness in any season before a meal .

La Maison Plantevigne-Dubosquet, located not far from Saintes in the heart of this deep Saintonge, a Roman city with limestone soils where the Romans planted their first vines in Gaulle at the very beginning of our era. It could have become the capital of cognac, but Saintes, with its arenas and its Arc de Triomphe from Roman times, had to fade in favor of its rival Cognac which later gave its name at the end of the 19th century to the most famous of the eaux-de-vie of France.

The Maison-Plantevigne-Dubosquet is now run by a 14th generation of this very old family from the Cognac region, whose roots, according to the French national archives, go back to 1640.

This House produces Cognacs Grande Champagne exclusively, classified Premier Cru and at the top of the qualitative hierarchy of Cognacs.
