Hine

House Hine is located on the banks of the Charente, in the heart of the Cognac region in Jarnac. In its cellars, where precious vintages are protected under seal, little has changed in 250 years.

From the nearby docks once began the voyage of Cognacs Hine around the world. This house, founded in 1763 by Thomas Hine's father-in-law, is one of the oldest in Cognac...

Sent to France by his father, sixteen-year-old Thomas Hine disembarked in France, in Nantes in 1791, went to Bordeaux where he stayed for a while, then joined Jarnac, a small town in southwest France near Cognac where the merchant who created his father's favorite Cognac had been based since 1763. He is recruited as a clerk.

Thomas soon meets Elisabeth, daughter of the prestigious négociant. Love at first sight. In 1796, at the age of twenty-two, Thomas married Elisabeth.

Thomas mastered finance and business. He developed the House's traditional business and in 1817 gave the company the name it still bears today: Thomas Hine & Cie.
In 1867, the emblem (Trade mark) of Hine was registered: the Stag.

From a wide range of Cognacs, the Maison Premiers Grands Crus has chosen only the Cognacs Grande Champagne, Premier Cru from the Cognac region: XO, TRIOMPHE and the famous Millésimes from this Maison.
