Dubosquet

House Dubosquet, located not far from Saintes in the heart of this deep Saintonge, a Roman city with limestone soils where the Romans planted their first vines in Gaul at the very beginning of our era.

It could have become the capital of Cognac, but Saintes, with its Roman-era arena and Arc de Triomphe, had to take a back seat to its rival Cognac, which later gave its name to France's most famous brandy at the end of the 19th century.

This is a very old family from the Cognac region, whose roots go back as far as 1640, according to French national archives.

This house produces Cognacs Grande Champagne, classified Premier Cru de Cognac.

Description Dubosquet XO.

It is an XO cognac whose distilled wines come exclusively from the vineyards of the Grande Champagne Premier Cru de Cognac. The oldest Eaux-de-Vie that make up this exceptional Cognac date back to 1989.

The color is dark amber with light golden reflections in a bottle whose shape is late nineteenth century, a nod to one of the first bottles called "Cognacaise" produced mechanically.

During a prolonged tasting, the nose will reveal fragrances of white flowers such as cherry on notes of violet, a major characteristic of the origin of this remarkable Grande Champagne eau-de-vie, classified as Premier Cru de Cognac. Then come subtle, more structured aromas such as shichuan peppers, ginger, leather or musk to end on fine nuances of chocolate and coffee.

In the mouth, a wide range of gustatory sensations from white or black pepper, or ginger, vanilla that has matured over time in oak barrels, or mocha and chocolate to finish on a very fine copper point, a delicate gustatory reminder of the exceptional softness and roundness of the second distillation in a red copper still.

Tasting recommended in a tulip glass, an appropriate shape for a connoisseur's tasting. An exquisite moment to share with friends at almost any time of the day "to talk about it afterwards" according to Talleyrand, Minister of Napoleon I. Also goes very well in long drink with citrus schweppes, an extreme happiness in any season before a meal.
