Located in Mareuil on Aÿ, the House of Champagne ROger Pouillon was founded in 1947.
The house nowadays is run by the third generation: Fabrice Pouillon
It is a very fragmented vineyard spread over 36 parcels representing an area of 6.5 hectares. The vineyard is planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes.
The cellars are buried 15 meters deep, a unique situation very favorable to optimal aging bringing to the wines Rares and exceptional qualities.
The Cuvée Les Valnons, produced by Fabrice Pouillon, is a Champagne Blanc de blancs made from a single plot in the village of Aÿ-Champagne, an unusual grape variety for this terroir.
In fact, this cuvée is totally atypical, since the Aÿ terroir is renowned for its Pinot Noirs, and there are virtually no Chardonnays to be found here.
This Champagne reveals scents of green apple, peach and citrus. On the palate, it's a fresh cuvée, revealing lovely chalky and creamy notes, offering the volume typical of Grand Cru terroirs.
A very fine Champagne, with great ageing potential.
