Pertois-Moriset

Since its creation in 1951, Champagne Pertois-Moriset has been an independent, family-run producer. Harvesting-Handling, they vinify, champagnize and market only their own grapes.

Located in Mesnil-sur-Oger, a prestigious classified village Grand Cru of the Côte des blancs, this family-run Domaine seeks to exalt without make-up the minerality and typicity of their terroirs.

Their 20.70-hectare vineyard is divided as follows:

- 13.40 hectares in Côte des blancs, where the Chardonnay grape reigns supreme.

- 7.30 hectares in the Coteaux Sézannais, where the grape variety is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay.

This family-run house is a member of the prestigious Club Trésors de Champagne, a club founded in 1971 and made up of just 24 members, whose aim is to bring together artisan Champenois winemakers sensitive to the preservation of their terroir and know-how. This membership contributes to embellishing the flawless reputation of Pertois-Moriset and enhances their quest for excellence and respect for winegrowing tradition and terroir.

Description Pertois-Moriset Millésime 2010 Magnum.

A wine from a single harvest (2010), a single grape variety, namely Chardonnay, selected from the finest plots in a single village: Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, village Grand Cru.

Golden yellow cup with subtle green highlights. A fine, persistent perlage emerges from the bottom of the glass.

An intense, elegant nose, chalky and very characteristic of the Mesnil-sur-Oger terroir. Citrus notes, lemon zest, subtle hint of apple. Slightly brioche-like aroma, full of finesse, classic of Blancs de Blancs with long ageing on lees in the cellar (84 months, i.e. 7 years).

Very taut, mineral, lively. This liveliness typical of green apple suggests, fact rather Rare in Champagne, a malolactic fermentation not carried out, revealing all the original freshness of Chardonnay on this terroir Grand Cru.

This barely dosed (1 g/liter) but impeccably balanced wine is the most singular signature of Champagnes from the house of Pertois-Moriset.

It will prove an excellent partner with oysters in Champagne or baked turbot, and make a sublime pairing during the cheese platter with Chaource.
