Pertois-Moriset

Since its creation in 1951, Champagne Pertois-Moriset has been an independent, family-run producer. Harvesting-Handling, they vinify, champagnize and market only their own grapes.

Located in Mesnil-sur-Oger, a prestigious classified village Grand Cru of the Côte des blancs, this family-run Domaine seeks to exalt without make-up the minerality and typicity of their terroirs.

Their 20.70-hectare vineyard is divided as follows:

- 13.40 hectares in Côte des blancs, where the Chardonnay grape reigns supreme.

- 7.30 hectares in the Coteaux Sézannais, where the grape variety is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay.

This family-run house is a member of the prestigious Club Trésors de Champagne, a club founded in 1971 and made up of just 24 members, whose aim is to bring together artisan Champenois winemakers sensitive to the preservation of their terroir and know-how. This membership contributes to embellishing the flawless reputation of Pertois-Moriset and enhances their quest for excellence and respect for winegrowing tradition and terroir.

Description Pertois-Moriset Les Quatre Terroirs.

Today, this property is managed by Cécile Pertois Moriset and her husband Vincent, the 3rd generation to head this independent family business. The vineyard area is 20 hectares, spread over two terroirs, the Côte des blancs for around 13 ha and the Coteaux Sézannais for around 7 ha.

The cuvée Les Quatre Terroirs is a Blanc de blancs, made exclusively from Chardonnay from the villages Grand Cru de Chouilly, Cramant, Oger and le Mesnil sur Oger. The blend is 70% wine of the year and 30% wine taken from the perpetual Réserve. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats and oak barrels, with malolactic fermentation blocked to preserve all the freshness and salinity of these terroirs. Aged on laths for 3 years, the wine is dosed at 3 g/L, making it a Extra brut.

The nose is truly marked by the Grand Cru terroirs of the Côte des blancs, with lots of freshness, minerality, a hint of iodine and gunflint. Chardonnay's pastry values, such as frangipane and fresh hazelnuts, are also present. The palate is firm and deep, with white fruits, butter and toast. Then, to add dynamism to the whole, appear persistent notes of citrus, citron and tangerine.

This Blancs de Blancs Extra brut Les Quatre Terroirs de Pertois-Moriset will be the perfect accompaniment to a veal tartar with capers and olives, and for lovers of the coast, it will be the ideal companion to a seafood platter.
