This is a family-run Maison located in Epernay since 1834, that is five generations of prosperity, exacting standards, generosity, loyalty, with an umbrella of a certain taste for freedom.

However, their success was to suffer the consequences of the SecWorld War II, the owners at the time took over, innovated, exported, and ultimately saved the family business, notably with an investment fund's acquisition of a stake in 1994.

The Boizel-Chanoine Champagne group came into being with the merger of the Champagnes Chanoine, before becoming Lanson-BBC in 2010.

What a great vintage! A year marked by cold weather in Champagne, where it took until late April to stop recording negative temperatures.

May, June and August were cool and rainy, leaving doubts about the quality and quantity of the future harvest.

The 2 sunny, warm and dry weeks of mid-July and early September (just before the harvest) will ensure full ripeness and impeccable harvest quality.

Once again the great winemakers have risen to nature's challenge to make 2008 a very great vintage.

This Joyau de France cuvée was first produced in 1961, when innovation was stimulated by the exceptional quality of the vintage.

It is made from grapes from Premiers and Grands Crus, from Mailly, Cumières and Chigny-les-Roses for the Pinot Noir (60%), and Avize, Chouilly and Vertus for the Chardonnay (40%).

Vinification is carried out on a parcel-by-parcel basis, with a small proportion (10%) in wood.

The wine is then aged for 12 years on its lees before disgorgement. To preserve the typicity of this great year, a light dosage of 3g/L is then carried out.

The nose is very elegant but already reveals greediness, almond, frangipane, candied orange and brioche ensure harmony.

The palate is intense, silky, and confirms the pastry notes.

The whole is balanced by a fresh, sparkling finish.

You can serve, with success, this Joyau de France 2008 with a braised cochon de lait noir de Bigorre and a fruit tagine Secs.
