What is the history of Maison Pierre Gimonnet?

It's around 1750 that we can find in the archives traces of the Gimonnets as winegrowers in Champagne, where they deliver their harvest to the Champagne trade. From generation to generation, they passed on their love of the vine. It wasn't until 1935 that Pierre Gimonnet began its own winemaking business. Michel, Pierre's son, joined the business in 1955. His passion and pragmatism enabled him to be a pioneer in parcel-based vinification, giving each terroir the opportunity to fully express itself. Today, Olivier and Didier Gimonnet embody the third generation, worthy heirs to an exceptional savoir-faire.

Description Pierre Gimonnet et Fils Spécial Club 2015.

It is a blend of approximately 60% Cramant Grand Cru, 25% Chouilly Grand Cru and 15% Cuis Premier Cru, all villages located on the famous Côte des Blancs.
The grape variety used on these terroirs belonging to this House is 100% Chardonnay and the champagne is an Extra-Brut.
The grapes are harvested by hand and aged for 4 years in bottles on the lees in a deep cellar.
The dress is pale yellow
The nose: white spring flowers like acacia flower. Very nice touches of honey and buttered brioche with some toasted bread.
In the mouth: white-fleshed fruits such as vine peach.
Food pairing : to be enjoyed around 10 to 12°C to avoid tarnishing the fragrances on goose or duck foie gras canapés.
Will go perfectly well with white meats flavored with ceps from Bordeaux, or morels or chanterelles from Sologne.
