J. L. Vergnon

Champagne JL Vergnon, five generations for almost two centuries in the same house which first housed the Regnault Frères house, one of whose descendants Elizabeth Regnault married a Vergnon.

From this union was born a son Jean-Louis who recreated in the 1950s the vineyard on Côte des blancs in Mesnil on Oger and who then gave this House the name Champagne JL Vergnon that we know today.

Alain, his son took up the torch in 1979 followed nowadays by Didier and Brigitte supported by a renowned oenologist Christophe Constant.

Located in the heart of the Côte des blancs, the Vergnon house elaborates its Champagnes from grapes harvested on its vineyards exclusively all located in Mesnil-sur-Oger, in Oger and in Avize, all classified Grand Cru and planted exclusively with Chardonnay grapes.

Description J.L. Vergnon Murmure Brut Nature Magnum.

It is a Premier Cru from parcels on the terroirs of Vertus and Villeneuve planted exclusively in Chardonnay. It is a natural brut.

The robe is a pale yellow like all Chardonnay champagnes.

The first attack on the nose is very mineral with notes of fresh herbs. The second note is slightly mentholated, even lemony, evoking the fragrance of the Menton lemon with a slight finish on mango.

The mouth is also very mineral, a sign of youth, but also of firmness.

To be served between 9 and 10°C.

Food pairing : excellent as an aperitif, perfect with foie gras canapés, smoked salmon, sashimi.

It is a wine with a very good ageing potential of up to 10 years in a cellar away from light and noise, bottle laid down.
