Hugues Godmé

The house of Champagne Hugues Godmé is a renowned family Champagne producer, renowned for the exceptional quality of its cuvées. Founded by Hugues Godmé himself, the house perpetuates a centuries-old winemaking tradition and showcases the unique terroir of the Champagne region.

The Godmé family history goes back several generations, when Hugues Godmé's grandfather began cultivating vines in the Verzenay region, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. Hugues Godmé then took over the reins of the family business and set about developing a vision of Champagne production based on excellence and the preservation of traditional values.

The vineyards cover almost 14 hectares, mainly located in the grand crus of Verzenay, Verzy and Villers-Marmery. These terroirs, characterized by limestone and clay soils, offer ideal conditions for growing Champagne grape varieties, notably Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier.

The Hugues Godmé estate attaches great importance to sustainable, environmentally-friendly viticulture. The vines are grown using responsible agricultural practices, with particular attention paid to biodiversity and soil health. Harvesting is carried out by hand to ensure careful selection of the ripest, healthiest bunches, preserving the pure expression of terroir.

Description Hugues Godmé La Réserve.

Cuvée La Réserve is a Champagne that brilliantly embodies the harmony of Champagne's three grape varieties. This blend, composed of 60% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Meunier and 10% Pinot Noir, offers a rich, nuanced tasting experience.

The blend of harvests from different vintages (40% 2010, 30% 2009, 15% 2008 and 15% 2007) gives this Champagne exceptional maturity and complexity. Partial fermentation in 225-liter oak barrels (20% of the cuvée) brings subtle notes of wood and vanilla, while malolactic fermentation, carried out on 55% of the wine, softens acidity and enriches texture.

Without fining or filtration, La Réserve retains all the integrity and purity of its Verzenay Grand Cru terroir. On the palate, the blend offers a perfect balance between the lightness and freshness of the Chardonnays, the fruitiness of the Pinots Meuniers, and the power of the Pinots Noirs.

The 7g/l dosage ensures a finish that is both rich and delicate, with impressive aromatic persistence.

The La Réserve cuvée is particularly appreciated for its balanced yet flattering character, a consistent profile it derives from its blend made from 60% vin de garde.

With a versatile taste profile, this Champagne is ideal for accompanying professional cocktails or family ceremonies.
