Hugues Godmé

The house of Champagne Hugues Godmé is a renowned family Champagne producer, renowned for the exceptional quality of its cuvées. Founded by Hugues Godmé himself, the house perpetuates a centuries-old winemaking tradition and showcases the unique terroir of the Champagne region.

The Godmé family history goes back several generations, when Hugues Godmé's grandfather began cultivating vines in the Verzenay region, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. Hugues Godmé then took over the reins of the family business and set about developing a vision of Champagne production based on excellence and the preservation of traditional values.

The vineyards cover almost 14 hectares, mainly located in the grand crus of Verzenay, Verzy and Villers-Marmery. These terroirs, characterized by limestone and clay soils, offer ideal conditions for growing Champagne grape varieties, notably Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier.

The Hugues Godmé estate attaches great importance to sustainable, environmentally-friendly viticulture. The vines are grown using responsible agricultural practices, with particular attention paid to biodiversity and soil health. Harvesting is carried out by hand to ensure careful selection of the ripest, healthiest bunches, preserving the pure expression of terroir.

Description Hugues Godmé Blanc de Blancs.

The Blanc de blancs cuvée from Hugues Godmé is a 100% Chardonnay that comes mainly from the Villers-Marmery terroir, on Premier Cru from Verzenay.

The fruit of a blend of different vintages (2010, 2008, 2007 and 2006), this Champagne is endowed with great finesse and remarkable complexity.

Fermentation in 225-liter oak barrels for 60% of the cuvée adds an extra dimension of texture and aroma. The malolactic fermentation from which part of the wine benefits softens the natural acidities, contributing to the roundness and complexity of this cuvée. Neither fined nor filtered, this Champagne retains its authentic character and purity.

On the nose, this Blanc de blancs offers a lacy, floral sensuality, the signature of its terroir of origin. The palate is of great finesse, combining floral notes with elegant ripeness. The 7g/l dosage perfectly balances the whole, ensuring a finish that is both fresh and persistent.

This Champagne is an ideal choice for a gourmet aperitif or a meal with marine notes.
