This cuvée is the perfection between intensity and great complexity.

- +

The 2000 vintage was supple, gourmet, refined and precise. Moderate power, they are particularly seductive and signed by the great success of Chardonnays.

Cristal Vinothèque is the ultimate Cristal experience of a few bottles kept for 20 years in cellars. The cuvée was matured for 11 years on slats, then 5 years on points and enjoyed a rest of 4 years after disgorging.

This blend champagne is composed of 56% Pinot noir and 44% Chardonnay.

It is a Grand Cru Champagne from the vineyards of Ay, Avize and Mesnil-sur-Oger.

The color is orange-pink with slightly amber reflections.

On the nose: intense bouquet of small red fruits such as raspberries, Plougastel strawberries or Mara des bois. Notes of hazelnut and stone fruit liqueur as well as sweet cocoa powder.

On the palate, we find notes of tangy raspberry, blackcurrant and citrus (Sicilian Orange). The texture resembles velvet with this fascinating impression of concentrated liquor in the mid-palate followed by the salty and chalky freshness.

Food / wine pairing: as an aperitif served at 10-12 ° C accompanied by canapés of foie gras, either duck or Gers goose. It is also perfect for dessert, such as a strawberry cake, a tarte tatin or a Norwegian black forest.

It was in 1833 that Louis Roederer inherited his uncle’s House : the Dubois Father and Son Champagne House in Reims, founded in 1776.

In 1876, Louis Roederer II who succeeded his Father in 1870, created, upon request of Alexander II for the Russian tsar’s exclusive consumption, the Crystal vintage, a superior vintage that is an innovation for Champagne.

Then in 1908, tsar Nicolas II gave the title of “official supplier to His Imperial Majesty’s Court”. The crystal bottles carry the tsar’s coat of arms as a medallion.

The House kept growing under the watchful gaze of the next generations, among which Jean-Claude Rouzaud, who managed the House from 1980 to 2006, and Frédéric Rouzaud, his son, the current manager since 2006.

The vineyard spreads on 240 hectares, dispatched on the Reims mountain, the Marne valley, and the Côte des Blancs. Pinot Noir is the main variety.
