Deutz

A sure-fire, must-try value, Maison Deutz has decidedly everything to please, offering numerous Champagnes as fine as they are irresistible. Spanning 45 hectares of vineyards around the town of Aÿ, mainly classified as Premier Cru and Grand Cru, Maison Deutz demonstrates an authentic style with the purest respect for traditional methods and environmental issues.

What is the history of Maison Deutz?

La Maison de Champagne Deutz was founded in 1838 in Aÿ by William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, who were born during the First Prussian Empire and immigrated to France in 1830. William was already selling Champagne while Pierre-Hubert was a wine merchant, so they combined their skills to found their own trading house. Description Deutz William Deutz La Côte Glaciaire 2015.

It is a parcel of champagne from "La Côte Glacière" located in Aÿ classified Grand Cru exclusively. It is also a single-varietal champagne planted exclusively in Pinot Noir in the 2015 vintage.

The average age of the vines is 50 years. It benefits from a southern exposure, ideal, to bring an optimal maturation.

The wines have been vinified, aged and then taken to the cellar for more than 6 years.

The color is bright yellow gold.

On the nose and on the palate: vast palettes of red fruits such as raspberries, strawberries or burlat cherries with touches of yellow fruits such as vine peach and red berries.

Food / wine pairing: as an aperitif served at 10-12 ° C accompanied by canapés of foie gras, either duck or Gers goose. Also suitable perfectly with scallops pan-fried with fleur de sel either from Guérande or Île de Ré or from a bed of leeks.

Bottles to be stored in the cellar away from light and noise with a humidity of 70%. We suggest successive tastings in order to measure its evolution until its qualitative peak.
