Duval-Leroy
It was in 1859 that the Duval House-Leroy is created by the association d'Armand Leroy and Jules Duval.
Today the house cultivates 200 hectares planted mainly with Chardonnay on parcels classified Grand Cru or Premier Cru at the very top of the Crus scale created in 1911.
This House based in Vertus in Champagne is currently run by the 6th generation.
The House produces many qualities these days, each more remarkable than the next.
Description Duval-Leroy Femme de Champagne Magnum.
Le Maître des celliers has successfully blended wines from different great years, coming exclusively from Grands Crus, classified at the top of the quality hierarchy of Champagnes. It is made from Chardonnay grape for 87% and 13% Pinot Noir grape.
All the harvest is manual and the press wine was vinified in oak barrels.
The dress is gold.
On the nose and on the palate: first attack on fragrances of white flowers and citrus fruits such as lychee, mango or pink Florida grapefruit. In the second attack toasted brioche, sweet almond and small hints of spices. The finish is very mineral.
Food / wine pairing: Elegant with hot oysters from Marennes-Oléron or Belon or over shelled eggs with caviar. Perfect with fish in sauce, such as sea bass, Saint-Pierre or turbot. Wonderful on white meats with Périgord morels.
To keep in the cellar: bottle lying down protected from light and noise with a humidity of 70% and with successive tastings until its qualitative asymptote.
