A Blanc de Noirs originating from the Rodez House’s best plots.

- +

This Champagne is 100% Pinot Noir from a single year and from the Grand Cru plot ‘D’Ambonnay’ and exclusively from several small plots named Les Gennettes, Les Beurys, La Goisse, Les Bouités from Eric Rodez’s vineyard, whose average age is 42.

The wines were vinified entirely in small oak barrels without malolactic fermentation.

The colour is a clear bright gold.

The nose and mouth combined harmoniously disclose distinguished fragrances of red fruits like wild strawberry, blueberry or redcurrant, while expressing spices like grey or white pepper  with a remarkable lingering finish on wooden notes enhanced by a touch of vanilla.

A great moment if served as an aperitif with sushi, maki or sashimi. Would also go well with lime-flavoured caviar canapés or Grande Champagne Premier Cru cognac-flavoured foie gras. Would also fit well with grilled fishes or even white meats.

Very good potential of ageing in cellar, away from light and noise, bottle laid flat.

Size : 750ml
Alcohol Degree : 12°
Appellation : Champagne Grand Cru
Vintage : 2009
Grapes : 100% Pinot Noir
Classification : Grand Cru

It has been almost three centuries that the Rodez family are linked to the champagne land and most notably the Ambonnay terroir, with its small village and streets surrounded by the vineyards’ boundary walls.

Nowadays, it is Mickael, a ninth generation, who took over.

Just like before, this House continues to vinify the main part of its Champagnes in small oak barrels. The majority of the wines don’t go through a second malolactic fermentation, thus allowing the wine to age longer in cellar, while enhancing its qualities.
