It was Jean Chiquet who, in 1974, bought the Jacquesson House founded in 1798 and his two sons Laurent and Jean-Hervé manage this prestigious House. Jacquesson was Napoleon I’s favourite Champagne. Moreover, Adolphe Jacquesson invented the wire cork cage and small metal plaque put above the cork to prevent the cage from press on the cork.
Laurent and Jean-Hervé CHiquet also manage their 28 hectares vineyard located in the grand cru classified villages of Aÿ, Oiry and Avize, and the ones classified Premier Cru : Dizy and Hautvillers. The vineyard’s supply is supplemented by acquisitions in Grands Crus and Premiers Crus. Thus, Jacquesson Champagnes are only Premier and/or Grand Cru Champagnes exclusively, a sign of the House’s will to sustain a very high quality.
