Guy Charlemagne

The Champagne Guy Charlemagne embodies the excellence and heritage of a family dedicated to creating exceptional Champagnes.

Founded by Guy Charlemagne himself, this house of Champagne is located in the village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the heart of Côte des blancs, one of the most renowned wine-growing regions of Champagne.

The history of the Charlemagne family goes back several generations, when Guy Charlemagne decided to continue the family tradition of winemaking. Driven by his passion for vines and wine, he created his own Champagne house in 1892 and laid the foundations for a line of winemakers dedicated to excellence.

The Côte des blancs terroir is at the heart of the Champagnes Guy Charlemagne identity. The vineyards cover almost 18 hectares, mainly located in villages classified as Grand Cru appellation, including Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger and Cramant. The chalky terroir of Côte des blancs is particularly well-suited to the cultivation of the Chardonnay grape variety, enabling the production of Champagnes of great elegance and characteristic freshness.

The Charlemagne family attaches great importance to integrated viticulture and the preservation of the environment. The vines are worked with care, favoring nature-friendly practices and minimizing the use of chemicals.... See more ...

Description Guy Charlemagne Réserve Brut.

It is a Grand Cru champagne coming exclusively from the Grands Crus of Mesnil and Oger elaborated from the Chardonnay grape variety.

The robe is a brilliant pale yellow

On the nose as well as on the palate: a harmonious palette finely chiseled between notes of acacia flowers, touches of citrus fruits such as lime, Florida grapefruit with a small elegant finish on the bergamot of Southern Italy.

The palate is fresh, slightly minty, melting with touches of fresh hazelnuts accompanied by a palette of pastry.

Food and wine pairing : to be enjoyed around 10 to 12°C as an aperitif or as an appetizer with Pata Négra canapés from Spain or with cubes of melon from Charente, very elegant with Marennes-Oléron or Belon oysters but also with warm oysters. Perfect on shellfish. Very well suited to tarts or citrus sorbets.
