Laurent-Perrier

What connoisseur of Champagnes doesn't know Maison Laurent-Perrier, whose sumptuous cuvées possess an almost refreshing taste of history? A veritable benchmark within the circle of great Champagne houses, Maison Laurent-Perrier has always demonstrated an innovative spirit, displaying a very distinctive style of finesse and elegance for two centuries now.

What is the history of Maison Laurent-Perrier?

It was towards the end of the First Empire, in 1812, that André-Michel Pierlot, a former cooper and bottler from Chigny-les-Roses, settled in Tours-sur-Marne as a wine merchant for Champagne. Tours-sur-Marne is a picturesque village located at the crossroads of the Marne's three main wine-growing regions: Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des blancs, and is one of only 17 communes to be classified as Grand Cru. In particular, he acquired two plots of land, "Les Plaisances" and "La Tour Glorieux", on which he built his own house.

His son Alphonse succeeded him, but as the latter had no children, it was his cellar master Eugène Laurent who became the owner in 1881. Description Laurent-Perrier Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature.

A blend with a long tradition at the Laurent Perrier Champagne House since it was first made in 1991 from the best hillsides planted with Chardonnay grapes exclusively on the Grands and Premiers Crus of the prestigious Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims: Avize, Cramant, Oiry, Chouilly, Tours sur Marne, Villers-Marmery and Rilly la Montagne

The wine stays 5 years in the cellar for a perfect aging before shipping.

The origins of the wines and aging are unchanged to this day, revealing, year after year and with the same expertise, the qualitative paroxysms of this great champagne chiseled with the greatest art by the Master of the cellars.

The robe is bright gold with very fine threads of bright green.

The nose, in first attack, is taken of pleasure with fragrances of white flowers as that of the acacia, of litchi and of bergamot of the south of Italy.

This is followed by a long series of more structured flavors on brioche, fresh butter with a fine touch of toast.

The mouth is ample and very round on touches of citrus fruits like the lemon of Menton, the clementine of Corsica subtly wrapped in a fine point of minerality.

To be served around 10 to 12°C with caviar blinis, foie gras canapés, smoked trout and Bayonne ham or Spanish Pata Negra rolls.
