Delivery date - Details

This champagne is a blend of grapes harvested on the Grands Crus territories of Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger, from a single year.

The colour is a green yellow with light golden hues.

To the nose: candied citruses with a touch of vanilla as a first impression followed by notes of chalk, fresh leather, almond and spices, all of which are typical traits of a calcareous soil, the Chardonnay variety and the many months spent in cellar.

To the palate, expressions of honey, biscuits/boudoirs, and finely grilled brioche with candied citruses.

Great potential of ageing for 4 to 5 years.

To be served around 10°C.

Perfect as an aperitif but also with a seafood platter or with bass or grilled salmon with olive oil. Will also fit on a 80% chocolate cake.

JL Vergnon Champagne, five generations and almost two centuries in the same winery, that first welcomed the Regnault Frères House, from which one of the heirs married a Vergnon.

A son, Jean-Louis, was born from this marriage, and in the 1950s he recreated the vineyard on the Côte des Blancs in Mesnil-sur-Oger. He then gave to the House its current name, Champagne JL Vergnon.

His son Alain took over in 1979, currently followed by Didier and Brigitte, with help from a renowned oenologist, Christophe Constant.

Located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, the Vergnon House elaborates its Champagnes exclusively from grape harvested on vineyards located in Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger and Avize, all classified Grand Cru and exclusively planted in the Chardonnay variety.
