Domaine Dujac

The Maison Dujac, jewel of the Bourgogne viticulture, perfectly embodies the elegance and age-old tradition for which the wines of this prestigious region are renowned. Founded by the Seysses family, this trading and Domaine viticultural house enjoys a rich history and exceptional terroir that contribute to the international reputation of its wines.

The history of Maison Dujac began in 1968, when Jacques Seysses and his wife Rosalind acquired their first parcels of vines at Morey-Saint-Denis, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits en Bourgogne. Jacques, a wine enthusiast of Bordeaux origin, brought with him a fresh take on Burgundian winemaking, while respecting the region's age-old traditions and know-how. Indeed, it is in tribute to Jacques Dujac, Rosalind's grandfather, that the House is named "Dujac", marking a family heritage that endures.

Over the years, the Seysses family has expanded its Domaine by acquiring new parcels in some of the greatest terroirs of Bourgogne. Today, Maison Dujac's Domaine extends over a considerable area of vines, spread over several prestigious appellations such as Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Vosne-Romanée, to name but a few. Each parcel is carefully selected for its qualitative potential and unique character, illustrating the Seysses family's commitment to producing exceptional wines.

Description Domaine Dujac Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru "Les Monts Luisants" 2020.

The Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru "Les Monts Luisants" 2020 du Domaine Dujac is a sublime Chardonnay that brilliantly expresses the richness of its prestigious Côte de Nuits terroir. Grown on a parcel of just over 60 ares, the vineyard enjoys a privileged geographical location, to the north-east of Morey-Saint-Denis. The vines, perched on steep 24% slopes, flourish at altitudes ranging from 311 to 343 meters, facing east, which favors optimal ripening of the grapes.

The soil, marked by an abundance of limestone gravel in a sandy-silt matrix, is unique. It gives the wines it produces an exceptional concentration and elegance Rare.

Reflecting the magnificence of the great white wines of Bourgogne, this cuvée stands out for its vivacity and freshness. On the nose, notes of lime zest mingle with mineral aromas of flint, offering astonishing freshness.

On the palate, the attack is straightforward, revealing the same intense lime notes perceived on the nose. Gradually, papaya and eXOtic fruit aromas appear, bringing great complexity to the whole. This explosion of flavors, though surprising for a Morey-Saint-Denis wine, is very seductive and persists into a long finish.

Promised to evolve magnificently if kept in the right conditions,  this Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru is a wine both typical of its terroir and boldly singular and will delight as such lovers of white wines with character.
