Domaine Faiveley

Domaine Faiveley

It was in 1825 that the first Faiveley founded the house Faiveley in Nuit St Georges, still named as such and still run by a Faiveley.

It is the 7th generation that today is at the head of this prestigious House. Over time, this House has acquired many Domaines including the iconic Monopole Clos des Cortons Faiveley" located in Rognet-Corton acquired in 1874.

This family has developed deep relationships of trust over time with many Burgundian winemakers who have become preferred suppliers.

It is thanks to its roots and exceptional ties that the House is thus able to offer a wide range of wines from Bourgogne.

Description Domaine Faiveley Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2018.

Considered one of Bourgogne's greatest wines, the 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru from Domaine Faiveley is as Rare as it is exceptional.

Produced in the historic Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, which is still shared by 82 owners today, this wine is made from three distinct parcels belonging to Domaine Faiveley, each contributing its own nuance to the wine's character.

The two parcels at the bottom of the clos benefit from deep marly soils, capable of conserving moisture and preventing water stress, a notable advantage in hot, Secs vintages.

Vinification varies from vintage to vintage, reflecting the philosophy of Domaine, which aims to get the best out of each plot according to the particularities of the year.

The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru from Domaine Faiveley embodies a monastic, austere, almost "intellectual" style, aimed at connoisseurs of Pinot Noir in its purest expression. This style is far from easy charms, offering instead rustic beauty and elegant austerity.

On tasting, this wine unfurls a complex bouquet, blending delicate aromas of rose and violet with fruity notes and, in filigree, subtle woody accents. The first impression on the palate is soft and round, evolving into tannins that gradually reveal their power. The solid structure, generous body and persistence of this wine make it a worthy representative of its renowned Grand Cru terroir.

The Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2018 is a wine that will benefit from being kept for several years, if storage conditions are obviously optimal. It's an exceptional choice for Bourgogne wine lovers looking for an authentic tasting experience.
