It was in 1825 that the first Faiveley founded the house Faiveley in Nuit St Georges, still named as such and still run by a Faiveley.
It is the 7th generation that today is at the head of this prestigious House. Over time, this House has acquired many Domaines including the iconic Monopole Clos des Cortons Faiveley" located in Rognet-Corton acquired in 1874.
This family has developed deep relationships of trust over time with many Burgundian winemakers who have become preferred suppliers.
It is thanks to its roots and exceptional ties that the House is thus able to offer a wide range of wines from Bourgogne.
The Premier Cru "Les Cazetiers" 2018 du Domaine Faiveley is an exceptional wine from one of Bourgogne's most prestigious terroirs. One of the Rares Têtes de Cuvée not reclassified as Grand Cru in the 1930s, this cuvée brilliantly reflects the essence of Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru.
The Domaine, which has held more than 4 hectares of this appellation since 2013, benefits from the diversity of two distinct terroirs. At higher altitudes, the presence of marl and limestone brings finesse and minerality to the wine, while the deeper clay soils at the bottom of the plot give it power and richness. This unique combination of soils, combined with a southeasterly exposure offering optimal sunshine, produces a wine that rivals Chambertin's own aromatic notes in complexity and richness.
The 2018 "Les Cazetiers" cuvée stands out for its intense, complex nose, revealing red fruit aromas and hints of roasting. On the palate, the wine is both intense and generous, characterized by well-marked tannins. This power is accompanied by a silky structure and remarkable persistence.
