Domaine Faiveley

Domaine Faiveley

It was in 1825 that the first Faiveley founded the house Faiveley in Nuit St Georges, still named as such and still run by a Faiveley.

It is the 7th generation that today is at the head of this prestigious House. Over time, this House has acquired many Domaines including the iconic Monopole Clos des Cortons Faiveley" located in Rognet-Corton acquired in 1874.

This family has developed deep relationships of trust over time with many Burgundian winemakers who have become preferred suppliers.

It is thanks to its roots and exceptional ties that the House is thus able to offer a wide range of wines from Bourgogne.

Description Domaine Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru "Petite Chapelle" 2016.

It is a red Burgundy harvested exclusively in 2016, an almost legendary year given its exceptional climatological characteristics, which originates from a very low surface climate called Petite Chapelle located in the South and belonging to Gevrey-Chambertin, the Cru favorite of the Emperor Napoleon 1st. It is a Premier Cru exclusively planted with Pinot Noir grapes.

All the harvest is manual and the berries are carefully sorted in the vineyard and in the cellar.

The color is intense ruby red.

On the nose and on the palate: an explosion of flavors and aromas, a wide range of small black and red fruits ranging from blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry to finish with hints of black cherries from the Basque Country. The mouth is full and velvety with elegant tannins harmoniously mixed with hints of woody and spicy vanilla.

Food and wine pairing: prime rib grilled à la plancha or on the barbecue with a few red and green peppers, grilled pork à la plancha flavored with Espelette pepper and Turmeric, splendid with Roquefort cheeses, Fourme d ' Ambert or a Camembert from Normandy. Excellent on a red fruit tart.

The bottles will be stored lying down in the dark with a humidity of around 70%. Successive tastings are to be done in order to measure its qualitative peak over time.
