Clos des Ruelles is a plot of 2,5 hectares, monopoly of Chamirey.

It is a wine which comes exclusively from a parcel called "Clos des Ruelles" held in monopoly of which the oldest vines were planted in 1954 and the youngest in 1980.

The plot is exposed South-East on a soil very marked in ferric oxide. It is a vintage exclusively of the year 2018.

The color is intense ruby ​​with purplish reflections.

On the nose and on the palate: a very beautiful aromatic palette with notes of black berries such as wild blackberry, burlat cherry, blueberry with a hint of spices such as white and black pepper or cinnamon. The palate offers a beautiful structure with melted and silky tannins with a very pleasant finish on a hint of woody vanilla.

The bottles should be stored lying down protected from light and vibrations with an optimum humidity level of 70%. It is a wine to keep with successive tastings to measure its development and capture its peak which should appear around the 2030s. The wine should be decanted and tasted at room temperature.

Food / wine pairing: with meats in a sauce such as beef bourguignon flavored with Bordeaux porcini mushrooms and Quercy truffles or white meats in a sauce flavored with morels or shiitake.

It is a Château located on the heights of Mercurey, the existence of which can be found in the 18th century in the family archives.

Today, it is the 5th generation that takes care of the vineyard of this remarkable château, the total area of ​​which amounts to 37 hectares, of which 27 hectares are planted with red Pinot Noir grapes and 10 hectares with white Chardonnay grapes.

Only 15 hectares are classified as Premier Cru and Premiers Grands Crus, faithful to its chart, has only retained wines from terroirs classified Premier Cru exclusively.

The entire vineyard is cultivated in sustainable cultivation on a rocky and limestone terrace for the whites and a predominantly ferric oxide soil for the reds. The average age of the Domaine's vines is 35 years. All the harvests are manual with double sorting of the berries in the vineyard and in the press.

The wines are aged in French oak barrels of 400 liters and 228 liters, partly in new barrels and on average for 14 months, depending on the specificities of the harvest and the climate.
