Located in the center of the prestigious Côte de Nuit in Bourgogne and in the heart in the upper part of the famous Clos de Vougeot, the cradle of Burgundian viticulture, not far from the prestigious Cistercian manor house, inside the surrounding walls stands Château de la Tour.
Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is 50 hectares and more than 50 owners including Château de la Tour with its 5 hectares. The vineyard is planted with the Pinot Noir grape variety, a variety perfectly suited to the plot of Clos de Vougeot
The grapes are harvested by hand and the wines are aged mostly in oak barrels.
Two cuvées of Grand Cru Clos Vougeot are produced in the exclusive cellar-the only cellar that exists within the walls of this famous and unique terroir in the world-of Chateau de La Tour: a classic cuvée and a confidential cuvée of old vines.
The château is the only one located in the Clos de Vougeot. The estate began bottling in the 1930s.
The wine is now at its highest level. The vinification of whole grapes and the ageing in partially new barrels give a high quality product. The "cuvée vieilles vignes" brings its qualities even higher, on a par with the greatest.
