2015, what a beautiful vintage for the Bordeaux vineyard. It was a hot and dry year, where the flowering of the vines took place in beautiful conditions in May, followed by a sunny and dry summer. The months of August and September saw some rain that was beneficial to the vines, allowing the ripening process to start again. At harvest time, the berries were of exceptional quality.
Blend of the 2015 vintage: 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc.
The color is a very deep red, with brilliant ruby hues.
The nose is deliciously expressive, offering greedy aromas of jammy black fruits, red currant, roasted wood, white pepper and truffle.
Soft on the attack, it is suave and voluminous on development, with fine tannins that give it a lot of freshness. Particularly concentrated, with flavors of blackberry, crème de cassis and roast, it blooms on a long, precise and persistent finish.
Food and wine pairing:
Chateau Malartic-Lagravière 2015 will pair nicely with a Chateaubriand with truffle sauce, veal cutlet cooked Milanese style, duck breast with pepper sauce or roast wild boar marinated in red wine.
For a pairing with cheeses, choose uncooked pressed cheeses such as Cantal, Edam, aged mimolette, morbier with truffles or Saint-Nectaire.
For desserts, enjoy it with a chocolate bavarois, an opera cake or a tiramisu.
Ageing potential and tasting:
Château Malartic-Lagravière 2015 would deserve another 5 years in the cellar to refine its potential, and will see its peak between 2028 and 2032.
However, it can be enjoyed wonderfully today. To do so, take care to place the bottle in the serving room at room temperature the night before. Open it and decant it at least 2 to 3 hours before tasting.
The bottles will be kept in the cellar protected from the light, lying down, with an optimal hygrometric degree of 70%.

It is a Grand Cru Classé of Graves-Pessac-Léognan, located on a hill known as the most beautiful for centuries, formed several million years ago by alluvium from the Garonne river.
The Château's archives date back to the 18th century but it was not until the end of the 19th century that it took the name of Malartic-Lagravière.
The very well-drained vineyard, which rests on gravelly soil and a shelled clay-limestone subsoil, represents a current surface area of around 50 hectares for an annual production of around 150 barrels, i.e. 180,000 bottles, a very small qualitative production of 3,500 to 3,600 bottles per hectare.
Grape variety for the red: Merlot Noir 45%, Cabernet-Sauvignon 45%, Cabernet-franc 8%, Petit Verdot 2%.
All the harvest is manual and the berries are sorted in the cellar. The wine vatting lasts about 30 days and the wine is aged in new barrels at a rate of 50 to 70%, for a period of 12 to 15 months before bottling.
