Size : 1500ml
Appellation : Margaux

This vineyard was already producing wines in 1608 on plots called "Curton, Puch, Sam Peyre, Ourmaton and Lacoste" but it was not until 1697 that it will be recognized and called Château Malescot, bought on that date by Simon Malescot, an Advisor to King Louis XIV to the Parliament of Bordeaux.

In 1827, the Saint-Exupéry family acquired the Château and gave it its name, one of whose descendants, almost a century later, would be Antoine de Saint Exupéry, the famous French aviator and writer.

It is a Third Grand Cru Classé according to the prestigious list of 1855.

The soil consists of gravel and the subsoil mainly of limestone and impermeable clay-limestone marl allowing the roots to draw water for optimal maturation over the 3 months of summer.

The vineyard, which covers approximately 30 hectares, is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon 50%, Merlot noir 35%, Cabernet franc 10% and Petit Verdot 5%.

The harvest is manual and the wine is aged in new barrels for 14 to 16 months before bottling;

The annual yield is around 160 to 165 barrels, or around 200,000 bottles depending on the vintage.
