Château Soutard is one of the oldest estates in Saint-Emilion.

Since 1836 it has remained in the hands of the same family: the Ligneris until it was acquired by the insurer AG2R-La Mondiale in 2006.

This 30-year-old wine will be perfect to taste with grilled lamb chops or simply a roast beef tenderloin.

Château Soutard was built around 1762 and has been a classified Grand Cru for many years.

The vineyard, whose average age of vines is 35 years, has the particularity of extending over approximately 25 hectares in one piece. The majority of the vineyard (16 hectares) is planted on limestone soil.

Grape varieties: Merlot Noir (70%), Cabernet Franc (30%).

The entire harvest is manual and vinified in separate batches depending on the nature of the soil, the grape variety and the age of the vines. The wines age in French oak barrels which are renewed in new barrels in proportion determined by the structure of the vintage.
