It is in the regional archives of Aquitaine that we find traces of this vineyard, which in the 18th century was called "Trop Ennuie" (from Old French: difficulty) suggesting by this name that the land on which rested then the vines were too difficult to cultivate! It was not until the beginning of the 20th century that its owner changed the name to Trotanoy.

The vineyard, which rests on a soil half in clayey gravel and the other half in black clay, is planted on the best exposed part of the Pomerol plateau, which will allow it to escape the disastrous consequences of the frost of winter 1956. The vineyard area is 7.5 hectares for an annual average of 25 barrels, ie the equivalent of 30,000 bottles for a very minimal but very high quality yield of 4,000 bottles per hectare.

Grape variety: Merlot noir 90%, cabernet franc: 10%. All the harvest is manual with sorting of the berries in the cellar.

The vatting period is around 20 days, then the wine is aged in new barrels for 50% for 20 months before bottling.
