Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe A

- +

A Grand Cru Classé A Saint Emilion, born in 2016 under a torrid and dry summer, happily calmed down by intermittent showers of rain in September.

Despite these difficulties, the Cellar Master, temporary holder of the immense talents of previous generations, was able to create a great vintage with countless qualities.

The color is dark garnet with black jade reflections

In the first attack, the wine offers on the nose aromas of small black fruits such as blackcurrant, blueberry or blackberry mixed with touches of cedar wood from Lebanon, dark chocolate, woody vanilla spices.

The palate, ample in entry, is very balanced, silky on the flavors of jammy black fruits and woody vanilla spices. The tannins are very present and tight.

Great wine, it ages and improves in the cellar away from light and noise, bottles lying down with an optimal humidity level of around 70%. Successive tastings will allow us to measure its qualitative evolution and its peak. To decant a few hours before serving.

Size : 750ml
Alcohol Degree : 14.5°
Appellation : Saint Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé A
Vintage : 2016

Classification : 1st Classified Growth A (St-Emilion)

Château l'Angélus, called Château Angélus since the 1990 harvest, owes its name to the fact that, given its location, it was the only place around Saint-Emilion from where you could hear the angelus ringing from the surrounding churches the chapel of Mazerat, the church of Saint Martin and the church of Saint-Emilion.

It is from this three hectare vineyard that the whole of this vineyard was built by successive purchase, which today covers around 25 hectares.

The Château, classified Premier Grand Cru "A" since 2012, produces approximately 100 to

110,000 bottles with vines with an average age of 35 years. Soil and subsoil are clay-limestone.

Grape variety: Merlot Noir 50%; Cabernet franc 47% and Cabernet Sauvignon 3%

All the harvest is manual and the wine of each year ages entirely in new barrels for 18 to 22 months.
