The current owners of Château Valandraud have repeated identically what the owners of the current great châteaux built in the 17th and 18th centuries. They patiently acquired plots in the Saint-Émiion vineyard and succeeded in building up a vineyard of around ten hectares.

They have in their know-how a long past with deep ancestral roots in Saint émiions which go back to 1459 and a very strong experience as a trader in Bordeaux.

The origin of the name comes from Val (Val: Fongalan valley, name of one of the vines) and a tribute to the couple whose wife was born Andraud.

It is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru.

The vineyard extends over ten hectares, the vines of which have an average age of 30 years. And rests on clay-limestone soil and subsoil, a key characteristic of all Grands Crus.

The production is around twenty barrels, i.e. around 25,000 bottles.

Grape variety: Merlot noir 70%, Cabernet franc 20%, Cabernet Sauvignon 5%, Carmenère 2% and Malbec 3%.

All the harvest is manual and the wine is matured entirely in new barrels 20 to 30 months before bottling.
