Château Haut-Marbuzet

Château Haut-Marbuzet

The origins of this Château date back to the 18th century, but it is only since its acquisition in 1952 by new owners that this Château has achieved notoriety, being classified as a Cru Bourgeois in 1932, promoted to the rank of Exceptional in the 2003 classification and finally proposed in 2009 for classification as a potential 4th Cru Classé.

The terroir is carried by a gravelly hilltop on a clay-limestone subsoil, a character and a guarantee of exceptional qualities.

The vineyard extends over approximately 65 ha in the commune of St Estèphe, Château thus benefiting from this prestigious appellation.

This is a Haut Médoc Classé St Estèphe wine. The grape varieties are 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.

The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and the wine is aged in new barrels.

This is a wine to be consumed at room temperature after optimal cellaring, verified year after year.

Description Château Haut-Marbuzet 2022.

The nose: dazzling, permeates the surrounding atmosphere.

The attack and mid-palate remain under the influence of the nose, revealing a magnificent fruitiness where finesse vies with intensity.

The extension is massive with an enormous structure resulting from a phenolic intensity of index 85.

The bliss is expressed so much the harmony with the fruit is sublime. The opulence ends with a hint of severity, a sign of greatness and duration.

The whole is the result of a terroir of high nobility served by never-before-seen climatic conditions and a minuscule yield for HAUTMARBUZET: 30 hectos / hectare.

This is yet another vintage of my life, the third after 2016 and 2020.
