The Branaire-Ducru House, separated from the Beychevelle House by the French royalty in 1666, owes its name to its successive owners from 1680 to 1879.

This wine is a fourth Grand Cru classified Saint Julien from the 1855 prestigious list.

The vineyard spreads on about 80 hectares of an average age of 40 years on a gravelly soil and production amounts to 250 barrels per year depending on the vintages, that is to say 300.000 bottles for an average yield per hectare of 2.500 to 2.700 litres.

Grape varieties : Cabernet Sauvignon 70%, Merlot Noir 22%, Cabernet France 5% and Petit Verdot 3%.

The whole harvest is done by hand with crates and the wine is matured entirely in barrels, of which 50% in new barrels, for 18 to 22 months depending on the year, before being bottled.
