Château Saint-Maur

Located in Cogolin, in the heart of a natural setting, Château Saint-Maur, Cru Classé, is rooted in the history of Provence and its wines. Ten kilometers from Saint-Tropez, west of the plain linking the foothills of the Maures massif to the sea, Domaine boasts a splendid building constructed at the end of the 19th century in a taste reminiscent of Moorish Spain, using 18th century elements. At its feet are its tightly packed houses and then the vineyards, covering the hillsides between garrigue and cork oaks.

The vineyard is run by a family of winegrowers who trace their origins to the Douro Valley in Portugal, where they still exercise their talents today.

It is a 34-hectare vineyard with mica-schist limestone soils and beautifully exposed to the southeast so as to receive a maximum amount of sun for a maximum amount of time, two characteristics that make its wines remarkable.

This is a Cru Classé belonging to the very elitist list of the 18 Classified Growths of Côtes de Provence at the very top among the 320 or so vineyards in this appellation.
