Charmes-Chambertin harvested in Gevrey-Chambertin belongs to the exceptional vineyard of Cote des Nuits, also called Burgundy’s Champs Elysées. It is a 30 hectares vineyard and, like every Grand Cru, it is located on calcareous soil.

Located between Dijon and Corgolin, 300 kilometres from Paris, the Cote des Nuits vineyard grows on a narrow hillside that stretches on about 20 kilometres and sometimes no more than 300 meters wide.

The Clos de Bèze broke into history around the year 640 and stayed the Burgundian Abbey‘s property until 1219, when it was sold to the canons of Langres, who kept it until the French revolution in 1789.

Charmes-Chambertin is one of the grands Crus since the 1937 decree.
