Château Sainte Roseline

Château Sainte Roseline

Château Sainte Roseline

A completely privileged location: thirty minutes from the Bay of Saint-Tropez and the Croisette of Cannes, the Gorges du Verdon or Aix-en-Provence. Château Roseline is part of the 18 Crus classés of Côtes de Provence and extends over the same millennial terroir.

The abundant source of this site led in the middle of the tenth century a hermit named ROUBAUD to withdraw there. Little by little, from a simple oratory, an abbey was born and took the name of CELLE-ROUBAUD. Roseline, daughter of the Marquis de Villeneuve, Lord of Les Arcs became its Mother Prioress from 1300 to 1329.

In the 14th century, under the impetus of the Bishop of Fréjus, the future John XXII, Pope in Avignon, the site became one of the first vineyards of Provence. It has always kept its leading role since Henri de Rasque de Laval, previous owner, was the first President of the Syndicat des Vignerons du Var.

In 1994, Bernard TEILLAUD took over the destinies of this prodigious property with the aim of making it one of the jewels of the Côtes de Provence wine industry.

To carry out the complete renovation of the abbey and in particular the cloister of the twelfth century and in order to pRéserver the nobility of the place, Bernard TEILLAUD called on the architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte. His mission was to give Château a new distribution while respecting the constraints of history.

2007, Aurélie BERTIN TEILLAUD, Bernard's daughter takes over the destiny of this beautiful property with the objective of investing as much as possible on the quality and the search for a different and authentic personality for each of the wines of Domaine: Château Sainte Roseline and Cuvée du Prieure.
