Château Grand Corbin Despagne

Located on Rive droite of Bordeaux, Château Grand Corbin-Despagne is loaded with history. The first written records of Famille DESPAGNE date back to 1665, but it was not until the end of the 18th century that the first vineyards appeared on this land called Grand Corbin and adjoining Saint-Emilion. Today, François Despagne represents the 7th generation at the head of Château, working to put all his heart and passion to produce a great wine. Certified in Organic Agriculture since 2013, Domaine is currently in conversion to Biodynamic Agriculture.

The Château Grand Corbin-Despagne was promoted to Grand Cru Classé during the 2006 edition of the Saint-Emilion classification.

The Château Grand Corbin-Despagne watches over a 29-hectare vineyard planted on clay-siliceous soils with a presence of iron dross. The grape varieties are 75% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are aged for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels, 50% of which are new, as well as in amphorae for about 10% of the production.

The property produces a Second wine, Petit Corbin-Despagne.

The Château Grand Corbin-Despagne produces fleshy and concentrated wines, for which the notions of passion and terroir take on their full meaning.
