Painturaud Frères

Founded by the Painturaud family in the early 20th century, this family-run business has carried on its heritage and passion through the generations.

Fernand Painturaud created the distillery in 1934 in Segonzac, in the heart of the Grande Champagne region, one of the most prestigious Cognac crus. The Painturaud family quickly made a name for themselves thanks to their uncompromising commitment to quality and expertise in the production of Cognac. This family tradition has been handed down from generation to generation, from Fernand to his son Paul, and then to his grandchildren, Thierry and Jean-Luc.

The Domaine vineyards cover 33 hectares, the vast majority of which are planted with Ugni Blanc, the grape variety most commonly used for Cognac production. These vineyards benefit from an exceptional terroir, characterized by limestone and clay-limestone soils, which contribute to the quality of the grapes. The region's temperate climate of Grande Champagne also favors slow ripening of the grapes, which is essential for the creation of complex and balanced Cognacs.

The specialty lies in its production of Cognac, in particular Cognac Grande Champagne, the highest quality among Cognac vintages. The eaux-de-vie are distilled in traditional copper stills, preserving the aromas and unique characteristics of the terroir. Aging takes place in French oak barrels, where the Cognacs acquire their complexity and refinement over the years.

House Painturaud Frères's commitment to quality and tradition is reflected in every bottle of Cognac it produces. The house's range of Cognacs includes a variety of expressions, from young, fresh Cognacs to older, more complex cuvées, offering a wide range of choices for connoisseurs and amateurs alike.
